Luckily, with the release of Bobbi Brown’s Nude Finish Illuminating Powder also came a handy chart showing where it fits within the range of shimmery face powders. Bobbi makes many face powders that do different things, so it’s handy to know exactly what you want before you shop. I am going to show you the five powders in the range, and I’ll let you decide which is best for you!
The new Bobbi Brown Nude Finish Illuminating Powder (shown here in “Golden”) is the least shimmery of five facial powders. Going up from there is the Brightening Finishing Powder (Bronze Glow), Brightening Brick (Coral), Shimmer Brick (Pink Quartz), and finally, with the most shimmer, the Highlighting Powder (Pink Glow).
Nude Finish Illuminating Powder (reviewed here) comes in six shades, from Porcelain to Rich. The Brightening Finishing Powder comes in three shades: Porcelain Pearl, Nude, and Bronze Glow (shown below).
Brightening Brick is in the middle of the pack in terms of shimmer. This was my first experience with the Brightening Brick, and I am now a huge fan of it. I purchased the shade “Coral,” which is usually not my preferred color range (I prefer cool colors). But this Coral looked neutral enough for me. It also comes Pink, Pastel Pink, and Cranberry. Next time I’ll pick up the Pastel Pink shade. It looks beautiful.
The Shimmer Brick used to be the most shimmery of Bobbi’s powders until the Highlighting Powders came out. I would be surprised if you had not encountered, or owned, a Shimmer Brick or two in your lifetime. These are iconic Bobbi Brown products, and (in my experience) they can be used for highlighting the face, decollete, or as eye shadow. The bricks are composed of five strips of colors that can be isolated and used individually. There are countless ways to use these bricks. The available shades are Bronze, Nectar, Rose, Beige, and Pink Quartz. From time to time I’ll see other, exclusive or limited edition shades, that always go quickly.
Although the Shimmer Brick’s shades span a huge range, anyone can use any of the colors and look fabulous. I think it’s the high shimmer to color ratio that makes the Shimmer Brick so amazing for all skin tones.
Note that the Highlighting Powder is also a new product, and it’s absolutely gorgeous to look at. It comes in two shades: Pink and Bronze Glow. Within its black compact, the powder is quilted and embossed with squares and rectangles. There is a random brush of pearly white within the pink base powder.
Let’s take a look at these powders close up, and then see them swatched together on my arm.
As I mentioned above, I am loving the Brightening Brick especially. Right in the middle in terms of shimmer, this powder gives a healthy amount of color with gentle shimmer. I will use this as an everyday blush.
What do you think? Aren’t they gorgeous?
Have a great one!
