Bobbi Brown Nourishing Lip Color – Uber Rose (“a mid-tone true rose”) & Rosebud (“a neutral pink rose”) – Swatches, Review, and Compare with Blush (“a neutral pink brown”)
Last week I reviewed Bobbi Brown’s new Nourishing Lip Color in Blush (“a neutral pink brown”), and now I have two more colors to show you! Uber Rose and Rosebud both looked like cool tones of pink on Bobbi’s site. (Quick, name the movie: “…Rosebud!!” / answer at bottom of page.) These two beauties have the same creamy, balmy, smoothly velvety consistency as Blush, and they wear more full colored than sheer. These lipsticks are not scented or sparkly or metallic. They are just basic, natural / gloss finish, lip colors! However they’re anything but ordinary– they are so smooth and comfortable to wear.
In the top photos you can see that Uber Rose is pinker than Rosebud (“Rosebud!!” – okay, I’ll stop now). It’s very subtle but there is a difference. In the swatches below, it becomes more difficult to see the difference depending on the lighting conditions. I also added a comparison swatch against Blush, so you can see the difference there. I happen to like Uber Rose better than Rosebud for my coloring, which is dark hair, brown eyes, light to medium skin bronzed to medium with self tanner, and pink undertones.
Let’s look at some swatches.
I’m thoroughly enjoying these lip colors from Bobbi Brown! What do you think?
Later this week I’ll add three more cool sounding colors to the line-up: Bright Raspberry (“a vibrant pink raspberry), Poppy (“a blue red”), and Cosmic Peony (“a bright blue pink”)! Sign up for email notifications if you’ve been waiting to see swatches of Bobbi Brown Nourishing Lip Color in Bright Raspberry (“a vibrant pink raspberry), Poppy (“a blue red”), or Cosmic Peony (“a bright blue pink”).
Comments? I’d love to hear them!

I love Blush and Rosebud on you. They look like nice formulas. I feel like we’re close enough in coloring that I could probably pick colors based on what looks good on you. I have more yellow in my skin, though.
Thanks for commenting! Wait until you see Poppy. You may really like it for special occasions. These lipsticks really pack color, so I won’t be wearing the brighter shades during a regular, casual day around town.
Hi! Thank you so much for reviewing these!!! I have Uber Rose and I’m super impressed with the formula. It’s hard to see from the swatches how Rosebud is different—does it have more brown in it than Uber? Is Rosebud less bright? Rosebud definitely looks warmer on your lips, but the swatches look opposite!
I like a neutral/cool rose lipstick, but my lips are super pink so I usually go a shade warmer to “correct” back to neutral/cool. Uber Rose turns into a (very pretty, AWESOME FORMULA) bright fuchsia red on me. I’m wondering if Rosebud might be the slightly more MLBB shade I’m looking for. But first I’m going to check out your reviews/swatches for Poppy, Cosmic Pink, and Raspberry!!! 🙂
Hi Lauren!
So you love Bobbi too, huh?
Addressing your question, my thought is that you don’t really need both Uber Pink and Rosebud. Uber Rose is a bit cooler than Rosebud in my opinion…but it’s quite a subtle difference. I got them both because: 1) I wanted to show as many colors as possible to everyone out there, and 2) I didn’t expect these two to be so similar!
You mentioned your lips are quite pink (lucky you!) and that you like to warm them up. What comes to mind as possibly good options are colors Blush and Desert Rose, if you want a MLBB look. On me Blush looks nude, but it may just create the perfect MLBB appearance for you.
Honestly, I loved most of the nine colors I bought. The only one I am “meh” about is Berry, just because I don’t really like the vampy look on myself.
But I am so happy I decided to review this. It’s so comfortable to wear, don’t you think?

Hi! Thanks for the reply! I do love Bobbi—like a good makeup junkie I use everything, but always go back to Bobbi. And I’m SO IMPRESSED with this new lip formula: it’s sooo comfortable to wear and it lasts for hours! (I do not work for the company, I swear!) I usually eat my lipstick off in about 10 minutes, but you can feel how “grippy” this one is, if you know what I mean. They’re doing something really, really right with their new lip formulas. Luxe Lip, in the gold tube, in Hibiscus is Holy Grail for me.
Totally agree about not needing both Rosebud and Uber Rose! I think Blush might wash me out (fair skin, dark brown hair, green eyes; beigey nudes are impossible for me), but I’m going to check out Desert Rose for sure. And Berry is the one I reached for the first day—that shade is totally my look—but they didn’t have it in stock so I went with something brighter, aka Uber Rose. But I love vamp and the whole “Disney Villainess” vibe. Or, well, 40-yr-old Disney Villainess with glasses. 😉
Thanks again! Your blog is terrific! It’s really nice to see some new people with new perspectives on the beauty blog scene. 🙂
Thanks so much! I’m still working our the technical kinks, which is why I just saw this comment!!!:)
