Part 2: Color Adjusting Lip Products

This review of Givenchy Mister Gentlebalm is officially Part of 2 of my “Color Adjusting Lip Products” series. So far I’ve reviewed two Catrice products, and one each from Dior and It Cosmetics, which I’ll now call Part 1.

Givenchy Mister Gentlebalm is different from the other adjusting lip products I’ve reviewed so far because it comes in a jar instead of a stick (.17 oz for $32 and up). (Note that Givenchy has another very similar product called Givenchy Hydra Sparkling Magic Lip & Cheek Balm Rosy Glow.)

Mister Gentlebalm has the juicy, jello-ish, fun look to it that AERIN Rose Balm has. It’s free of sparkles or glitter and has no taste. It does have a slight floral/ fruity smell that I like. I typically do not like fruity flavored lip products, like Lancome Juicy Tubes, but Mister Gentlebalm is so so much more subtle than that.

The jar looks very small, but it is actually .17 oz, which is more than Dior Lip Addict Glow, at .12 oz. Mister Gentleman comes in a tiny box and fits diminutively into a pocket, purse, or hand.

The color was beautiful on my lips, and left a stain once the product itself wore off. As you can see, this balm is actually quite glossy. I like the way it feels on my lips.

I like this product but unfortunately I won’t buy it again, because disappointingly it contains mineral oil as its third ingredient. I don’t like to use mineral oil/ petroleum (except to keep hair dye of my ears) because it keeps skin from breathing and it’s probably the cheapest ingredient Givenchy could add to this luxe lip balm.

Ingredients in Givenchy Mister Gentlebalm

What a shame.

Have you tried Mister Gentlebalm? Tell me what you think!
