I prefer to spend as little time as possible doing my nails, especially during the summertime. If I had a fairy godmother I’d ask her for shiny, pinkish nails, that stay nicely rounded forever, and I would agree to give up nail polish in exchange. I can live without nail color, except from time to time when I try out new shades, and the brights I like for my toenails. (BUT I will be showing you some new brights from vegan/”my natural” brands in upcoming posts!)

At some point a blogger has to decide whether she is writing for herself or for the benefit of faceless others.

When I started this blog in January of this year I intended to review and swatch makeup, and build an outlet to talk about my love of luxury beauty and candles. After a couple of months I realized I was writing a lot about “natural” and gluten free skincare and cosmetics. Obviously you can’t change who you are and my interests naturally veer there. And since starting this blog in January I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about the ingredients I put into my body, as well as what I put on it.

The Bacterial Benefit: Andalou Naturals Apricot Probiotic Cleansing Milk

I take great pleasure in leaving my boys and husband at home while I take a leisurely, solo, shopping trip. And luckily, there is pretty much never a time when we don’t need some groceries and other sundries. So I typically head to Target, and usually late on a Sunday morning. I may be imagining it, but the moms and dads shopping with their kids seem to look at me longingly, wishing they were alone like me.

Byredo Candles – Are They Worth the Price? A Review of Burning Rose, Loose Lips, Tree House, Loveless, and Carrousel

I know some of you out there wouldn’t dream of spending $60, $70, $80, and up for a candle. For those of you, Byredo candles obviously wouldn’t be worth the money. But then there are people like me, who would rather spend money on an excellent candle then on a night out for mediocre dinner and drinks. I get many, many hours of enjoyment from a good candle, and scent is a really powerful force in my life.

I hate to fluff my own feathers, but I am certainly a champ at spending money. Put me in almost any store, and I can find things I “need.” Put me in Target and I can really do some damage. But I also score some awesome deals at Target, so I love to shop the beauty aisles there.

Derma e Purifying Line: Review after 3 Weeks’ Use of Purifying Gel Cleanser, Charcoal Mask, Makeup Remover, and Youth Serum

I’ve written many posts about Derma e skincare and how well their products work as replacements for pricier products. I’ve been using the Derma e Anti-Wrinkle Glycolic Acid / Vitamin A Toner for quite a while now, and gradually I’ve started trying other products. In the meantime I’ve noticed the popularity of the brand begin to soar, especially in the past 6 months or so. There is good reason for this, as Derma e is offering high quality skincare, free of the ingredients I avoid, at a good price.
